The Learning Programs FAQ
What’s unique about Learning Programs at Kaleidoscope?
Today’s educational, work, and life environment in general places many demands on children and adults alike. Even in everyday situations, we are required to demonstrate a variety of competencies that traditional education does not quite prepare us for. Learning has necessarily become a lifelong activity.
Kaleidoscope offers structured learning programs to help develop a wide range of competencies. Some are commonly known and available programs such as music, art and dance. Others, such as programs on critical thinking, communication and work skills etc. are custom-designed at Kaleidoscope to meet needs that common programs don’t address. Each program is driven by the same passion to create learning that is relevant in today’s context, and is thoroughly enjoyable.
Our program facilitators have significant experience and subscribe to the Kaleidoscope philosophy of teaching and learning through activities and participative learning, than through lectures.
What kinds of programs are available?
Some of the programs that we offer are: Art and Craft, Music and Dance, Chess, Martial Arts, Theatre, Phonics, Story Hours, Quiz, French, Critical Thinking, Analytical Thinking, Creative writing, Public Speaking, Writing and Grammar, Accelerated reading…
Some of our custom programs are for teens and young adults. See a complete list of current programs.
Who can join these programs?
All programs are open for anyone above 5 years of age. We do not have any programs for children younger than that. However, the programs don’t have an upper age limit. Even if you are an adult and would like to try your hand at some skill, you are welcome to join a program.
A few programs are specifically for young adults and older people only. Details for program eligibility are published along with each program.
How do I get information about the current programs?
There are several ways:
- Check our website. It usually contains the most up to date information about the programs.
- Let us know if you would like to be on our mailing list. We email program announcements and details of other events to those who prefer to get the information via email.
- If you prefer the phone or sms, leave us your phone number and the kind of programs you are interested in. We will contact you when a program of your interest is scheduled.
- Check the bulletin boards at Kaleidoscope.
When do these programs happen and what is the duration?
Many programs happen in the evenings, after school hours or on Saturdays. Programs for teens, young adults and others are usually planned over successive weekends to help you fit them into your schedule.
Occasionally, the programs are full day events, designed as workshops.
Some of the programs, such as music and art are on-going. You can join whenever it is convenient for you. Other programs have specific start dates and run for fixed number of sessions. If you are not able to join a particular batch, you can join a subsequent batch for the same program.
Some programs are designed as one and two hour sessions spread over several months, while others may be structured in an intensive mode over a few days.
What is the fee?
Each program has its own fee structure. Information about fees is published along with the program details.
